Foundations Update - Patch Notes - March 3, 2023

// Xu has received a complete overhaul //

  • A new fast travel system is available
  • New decor and FX have been added
    • New signs and billboards have appeared!
    • Smoke has started leaking into, or out of, Xu
    • Lighting has been adjusted to be more vibrant
  • Many NPCs have been moved to new locations
  • Rolling has been added while in Xu for faster movement
  • A part of Xu is now closed for reconstruction
  • A new section of Xu has been opened
    • Teer-Racket employees will have the leisure of enjoying the new private employee sections!

// UI and controls have been reworked //

  • A joystick and buttons have been added to control movement
    • This applies to both portrait and landscape playstyles!
    • Overall player speeds have been massively increased
  • Players can now exit combat whenever they want
  • Tap movement has been removed
    • There are no current plans to bring this back
      • Though we are open to feedback!
  • Camera positioning has been updated to be smoother
    • This has also fixed the camera clipping through walls
  • Many menus have been updated to work across a much larger breath of devices

  • Enemy behaviors and AI have been greatly improved!
    • This is stage 1, expect more on the way!
  • The tutorial received a major touch-up
    • Xu can now be entered without talking to Sanders
    • A cinematic start with narrative implications has been added 
      • Experienced players can replay the tutorial by talking to Sanders in Xu!
    • Decor and FX have been added
  • Asynchronous loading has been added for smoother transitions
  • A new dynamic boot-up screen has been added
  • A new player skin has been added
  • Overall size of expedition floors have been decreased
    • This is for performance and to remove excess space
  • Projectiles now have a knockback effect on enemies based on damage dealt

// major bug fixes //

  • Audio artifacting and odd looping has been cleaned up
  • Performance at later expedition floors has been greatly improved
  • Rolling through doors when going at them at high speeds had been addressed
  • Gravity now affects the player

// minor bug fixes //

  • UI clicks not registering rarely has been fixed
  • Overlapping menus have been spaced out 
  • Door opening speed increased
